also, writing a snail mail letter is a COLLEGE assignment? i mean, good, 'cause you got that great letter. but are professors at the college level now having to introduce young adults on the rules of using the return address? wow. that being said, i haven't written a plain ol' snail mail letter in maybe more than 5 years, so maybe i shouldn't be surprised.

Like elle-emme, I am a little gobsmacked that a "snail mail" letter could be a college assignment. I had no idea! My last class (students from P to 3) wrote letters all the time, needing almost no excuse. They loved getting replies, you see, so we (they) used to write thank you letters and snippety-information letters until the cows came home. When I left my job, I was replaced by a man who'd recently arrived in the country from South Africa. After communicating with him via e-mail for some time, I told him I would be happy to send him a great deal of job-related hard-copy things if he could let me know his snail-mail address. He had NO IDEA what I was talking about, and even became a little agitated at the suggestion. How bizarre. Love, R xxx
